SENIOR QA

Reports to: Production Manager

Direct Reports: Zero

Effective Date: April 2021

 

Summary of Role & Primary Responsibilities

As QA you will be involved in all Food Safety aspects of the business. You will be responsible for ensuring proper protocols, documentation, production, and overnight hygiene standards are being met. You will be working towards the implementation of BRC standards across the site.

This position will work closely with both Production and Lab, supporting in trials and new product development.

Supporting in the development and continuing improvement of food safety, quality, integrity and legality and implementing the relevant technical standards via the central technical team.

  • Production Manager
  • Food Technologist
  • Process Technologist
  • Food Safety Team (Europe)

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Measure quality attributes and ensure that all CCPs meet requirements. Use this data to partner with the Operations team to ensure production meets all QA standards.
  • Collect samples and manage all quality and food safety documentation for their assigned line(s).
  • Support line trials and new product development
  • Develops and maintains standards and methods for routine quality inspections and evaluations
  • Develop and maintain procedures and work instructions
  • Oversees root cause investigations and collaborates on corrective and preventive actions
  • Oversee plant pest control program and actively work with pest control provider on corrective actions and investigations
  • Review quality records for completion, accuracy, and adherence to internal specifications
  • Maintains and account for product and raw material holds and disposals
  • Provide necessary documentation or knowledge for internal and external audits
  • Carry out regular audits of the facility
  • Work with team on proactively improving the quality department and production facility
  • Implementation of BRC standards
  • To undertake any other reasonable duties as may from time to time be required by the Company.

WAREHOUSE LEAD

The Role:

A fantastic opportunity for an energetic, dependable Warehouse Lead to join our brand-new plant in Calgary. We are seeking a dependable warehouse supervisor who is detail-oriented and possesses the physical and mental stamina this role requires. You will play an important role in ensuring our warehouse operates with optimum precision and efficiency, helping to fulfil orders and prepare them for shipment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive and process warehouse stock products (pick, unload, label, store)
  • Prepare materials for works orders
  • Preparation and loading of outbound loads (load, pack, wrap, label, ship)
  • Implementation and management of Warehouse inventory on ERP system
  • Perform inventory/stock control checks
  • Audit Ready warehouse standard kept at all times
  • Keep a clean and safe working environment and optimise space utilisation
  • Complete logs for vehicle checks
  • Report any discrepancies
  • Communicate and cooperate with Production Manager and co-workers
  • Operate and maintain warehouse vehicles and equipment
  • Follow quality service standards and comply with procedures, rules and regulations
  • Double-check items to verify the accuracy of outgoing orders
  • Ensure tools and equipment are kept clean and in working order
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or issues to upper management
  • Maintain quality and verify documentation
  • Co-ordination of logistics – in bound out bound
  • Communication with procurement and supply to ensure correct stock and quantities in place
  • Management of warehouse paperwork including, filing paperwork (PO’s, Delivery Receipts, Vehicle checks)
  • Ensure invoices, COA’s and BOL’s go to the correct depts.
  • Actively involved in production planning (Material availability)
  • Reporting: Material usage variances (MUV), stock accuracy checks, stock status reports,
  • Investigate inventory errors to correct and develop procedures to prevent future errors.
  • Reviewing dead stock, obsolete inventory, reliability of third-party trucking/delivery partners
  • Raising awareness of short shipments or insufficient stock for outgoing orders.
  • Involved in ongoing continuous improvement projects
  • Racking implementation, RFD gun implementation, ERP.
  • Review forecasts, inventory reports, and other available information to devise plans to meet fluctuations in warehouse demands.
  • Manage pallet inventory, ensure the correct pallets are used to minimize costs
  • Defining and implementing inventory and replenishment procedures.

  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions

Experience (Essential)

  • Previous warehouse operating experience in a manufacturing facility or similar relevant experience
  • Current forklift licence
